The Rule of Three Copywriting Studio is featured in the latest issue of Web Designer – the leading authority for worldwide web creatives and designers.
We were interviewed, alongside designer/developer extraordinaire, Will Viles, for an article within the magazine’s regular LightBox feature, which celebrates outstanding websites.
Dan Ramirez, Senior Copywriter at Rule of Three said: “The concept for the site was simple, yet ambitious: we wanted to create a site unlike any other copywriting site. Really, copywriting is an integral part of the creative industry. Yet, all too often, copywriting websites seem entirely divorced from the creative discipline. So we wanted to make a bold statement informed by both copy and design.
“We wanted to make a design-feature of the content itself – one that could focus the attention on the power of words, using nothing more than typography, space and design finesse.
“We felt that recent developments in web design – CSS, parallax scrolling, the increased availability of beautifully rendered web fonts – really offered us an opportunity to do this. We spent quite a long time working on the message design, getting the tone of voice and content just right.
“We then spent a few months researching and interviewing designers and developers that could help us come up with something special. When we found Will, with his enthusiasm and creativity, we knew that’s exactly what he would deliver. And he did!”
Will Viles, said: “In the copywriting marketplace, the site now stands head and shoulders above its ‘early-2000s-corporate-design-template’ rivals.
“Since launch, the site has had strong positive effects for Rule of Three’s business and, through winning design awards (Awwwards, CSS3 Awards, shortlist for FWA) has opened up their reach to a global audience. That was our mutual goal and we’ve achieved it. Therein lies the power of developing a beautiful, bespoke web presence.”
